Happy Birthday Mama

Today was Mom's birthday. I surprised Mom and Dad by knowing the words to Happy Birthday; they had no idea that I knew how to sing the song.
Daddy and I discussed and worked together to get Mom the best birthday cake we could think of. Dad was in charge of putting the candles in and bringing it to the table.
The 'cake cam'.
I really liked helping Mom blow out the candles.
Wishing Mom a Happy Birthday!
Because it was her birthday I agreed to sit for a nice mom and daughter photo, as long as I got to look at the photos on the camera the second after they were taken.
Happy Birthday Mama!

Marathon of Sport

This weekend Mom and Dad packed me up and shipped me off to Grandma's house. They were busy participating in motionball's Marathon of Sport. They spent all Saturday running around in sunshine to raise funds for the Canadian Special Olympics Foundation. Being the crazy energetic people that they are after playing sports for a full day they still decided to go out dancing that night.
They all cleaned up really well. Mom, Sarah and Meaghan were Darcy's angels that night!
Everybody both did a great job at Marathon and other being tired (and Dad's slight calf injury) they were in fine shape when I got home on Sunday. Thanks for the visit Grandma and thanks to everyone who donated to Mom and Dad; they really appreciate it!

One Year Ago Today

Oh, the memories. I can't believe it, but here is Miss Lola one year ago today.
It is funny for all her growing and changing, she still looks the same (and still loves that piece of plastic corn). Genetics are a crazy thing.

Mad Hatter Tea Party

Black Creek Pioneer Village held a Alice in Wonderland themed weekend, so the boys and I decided that we should check it out.
First order of business was to eat some old timer lollipops and licorice. They had a maze that took you through the looking glass and down the rabbit hole, it was pretty cool. Beej loved it.
Alice was running around trying to find a rabbit, the Queen of Hearts was hosting a croquet tournament and there was also this tea party; which was clearly written and performed by a troupe of mad hatters!
We explored all of the old buildings.
I tried to figure out how to hook my horse up to this hitching post.
It was fun to walk in the streets and not have to hold the hand of an adult. With no motorized vehicles and few pedestrians I was allowed to run free.
Here are the kids with their dad's. We are posing in front of the coolest mill you have ever seen, but mom failed to get that in the photo. Ooops!
Here we are checking out the blacksmith, possibly the worst job to have on the first of an extreme heat warning.

Thanks for the exciting outing Beej and Dylan!

Watching Football

On Monday night the weather was beautiful so I went to support the Hell's Mary football team in their quest for victory. While my presence didn't directly effect their performance; it did increase their cuteness quotient.
Mom and I hanging on the sidelines.
Skylar came to the game to cheer on her Daddy too, so we played while the adults ran around.
Sklar took this great shot of Daddy taking a much needed break!

Thanks for keeping me entertained Skylar! Go Hell's Mary Go!

Lola the Explorer

I think that she is ready for some pretty extreme hiking work!

The May Birthdays

We went to Grandpa and Baba's to celebrate the May birthdays. The highlight of a birthday get together is always the decorating of the birthday cake. Lola, Isabella and Joseph were couldn't wait to get their hands on the icing, candles, and smarties!
Isabella patiently waits for go time!
Lola and Daddy work on the candle placement together.

Joseph waiting to sing and eat the creation!
Little baby Madeline isn't all that little anymore, but still too little to get in the cake decorating. I am sure that before long she will be right up there with the rest of them and there will be four little bodies sitting on the counter sucking on smarties and sticking their fingers in icing!
This smile is awesome, I don't know how you are ever going to be able to say no to that!

Thanks for a great birthday celebration!

Grandpa and Oma's Sleepover

Grandpa and Oma came for a sleepover visit this weekend. It was pretty awesome. There were walks, and playing at the park, tea parties, and cuddles...
Lots of cuddles.
Grandpa got a super serious back pack for his hiking adventures. I had to show off my super serious little person back pack. We are thinking of hitting the trails together!
It was so much fun having them stay over night that I was sad when the had to head home to take care of Jax.
One more kiss from Oma before she leaves. Thanks for such a great visit, please come back soon!

Happy 40th Birthday Uncle Jeff

Uncle Jeff is turning 40 today. Because he loves his big brother so much Uncle Jeremy found this tape of Uncle Jeff singing along to Air Supply and wanted to share it with the world. With Joseph's help Uncle Jeremy made this little video for you to enjoy! The high notes are my favourite part!

Happy Mother's Day

For Mother's Day this year we took the moms to our favourite restaurant Le Papillon. It was delicious, thanks Aunt Peggy for setting up the whole outing.
We were too busy eating the delicious food to take very many photos. But, I made sure to get one with Grandma and Aunt Peggy.
Zen came to celebrate his mom also - who was probably off getting a delicious crepe when this photo was taken. It was a wonderful brunch and I decided to follow it up with a 2.5 hour nap (that was my gift to mom).
For mother's day I also let mom snuggle me as much as she wanted. And as you can tell from these photos she wanted to do it a lot!
Happy Mother's Day everybody, I hope that you had a wonderful day!
