These blue eyes and that wicked grin just melt my heart; even at four o'clock in the morning I am a sucker for them.

Happy Birthday Darcy - part 1
Darcy's birthday is always celebrated over many days with multiple cakes. This year Lola and I picked out a really amazing recipe that uses a cake making technique that I was eager to try. Lola is a great helper in the kitchen, but I know that her real motivation for helping is licking the spoons and spatulas when I turn my back. And Quinn was also super helpful that day by taking a great big nap.
Lola was in charge of decorations and she decided that Dad would love yellow sprinkles with a Buzz Lightyear candle. Incidentally, later Lola told me that the best part of the cake was the sprinkles. Regardless of what the four year old thought, I was really happy with how it turned out, it was delicious, light, fluffy and moist. One of the best cakes I have ever eaten!
I love this photo - dirty faces, no shirts and lots of smiles!
Happy Birthday Darcy! We love you lots!

Thanksgiving
For Thanksgiving this year we packed up the car and headed out to Collingwood to visit with Grandpa and Oma. Before we headed out we made this adorable Thanksgiving wreath; it has been hanging on our front door for a few weeks. I love it.
After Thanksgiving had been properly celebrated we headed out for our annual visit to the pumpkin patch. I love the pumpkin patch and there are so many fun things to do there.
It has an awesome corn maze that we spent about an hour wandering around in and this year we managed to find 3 of the 4 items that we were hunting for.
It has a tractor that takes you on a ride around the farm.
Opportunities to pose for silly photos.
Tractor races.
Cows to be milked.
Thanks so much for a great visit Grandpa and Oma!
Grandpa and Oma made an amazing Thanksgiving feast with all our favourite fixings. It was a delicious meal and the beginning of five consecutive meals that featured turkey!
At school Lola's class made chocolate and smartie covered apples. She thought that it would be perfect to share with her family for Thanksgiving. She was very proud of herself for bringing dessert to Thanksgiving dinner!
Lola was thankful for some time to spend with Jax.

But, my ultimate favourite of the whole visit is the "whack a thing and win a pumpkin" game. As a family we have never gone home empty handed. Last year was amazing with both Grandpa and Oma winning a free pumpkin. This year, with a sleeping Quinn attached to me and as the last player and on my last attempt, I managed get the ball in the hole and elevated myself to most winningist member of the family at "whack a thing and win a pumpkin"! We picked the biggest pumpkin in the patch as my major award!
Thanks so much for a great visit Grandpa and Oma!
