Adventures in Pancakes

Quinn poured his own maple syrup.
Maybe, he shouldn't be in charge of that anymore.

Choo Choo Quinn is Two

The theme for Quinn's party this year was trains, plain and simple and his favourite thing.  After deciding on the theme we needed a tag line and 'Choo Choo Quinn is Two' was born.  Lola loves chanting it.  It was a wonderful party with lots of our friends and family all there to celebrate and support our little man.  There are many stories and much to say, but it is late, so picture and a few words will have to suffice.
Birthday party prep at our house always goes into the wee hours of the night and requires lots of wine and many check lists.

Pin the whistle of Thomas, Lola was in charge of games.

 Welcome to Quinnerville Station!

The birthday boy with his new strider bike!  Thanks to everyone for pitching in.

New Winter Hat - cuteness alert

Lola picked out and purchased this hat for Quinn for Christmas.  I love it, Quinn loves it ad he gets compliments on it all the time.  When he is wearing it he reminds me of one of the boys from 'A Christmas Story'.  Lola is very pleased that he loves it so much; Quinn is very pleased because it is a gift from his big sister.

Christmas in Mississauga

Christmas at home

Christmas at home started on Christmas Eve with Darcy reading "Twas the night before Christmas".  This picture captures the only moment when both Lola and Quinn were sitting and listening -- which is how they will remember it when they tell their kids about it -- it was not the case for 99.9% of the story.
The next morning both Quinn and Lola were full of smiles when they saw their presents from Santa.  They both got exactly what they asked for; Thomas for Quinn and a microphone for Lola.
But, before stockings were checked out or any presents were opened Lola wanted me to open the present that she had gotten for me.  It was a brand new salad spinner and she was as excited about it as I was!  We were both really sad when the old salad spinner was broken.

After I opened my gift it was time for Lola and Quinn to really focus and get to work opening the way way too many presents under the tree.
Grandma joined us again this year for Christmas morning and Lola was very good at helping out when Grandma needed assistance with her unwrapping.
The after present chaos!  It took us breakfast, lunch and a nap to get through all of the opening.

The best part of the day was Lola's first big performance, her song of choice was the Hex Girls of course.
