Quinn Seven Months Old

A bit of house keeping to take care of here on the blog and a whole lot of backlogged photos to get up.  I'm hoping that with school starting up soon things may be a little bit calmer around the our house and I'll have time to get things like laundry, baking and blogging done.  Only five more months till I go back to work (eeeeek!)

This month has seen huge changes in Quinn.  He is eating anything he can get his hands on, he has two powerful teeth, he can sit up, he is mobile and he is sort of figuring out sleep. Big changes for the little man.

He also continues to be wonderfully sweet and loves kisses on his neck and snuggles.  A few things that I hope never change about him.

Lola is Four Years Old

Now that she is four she just doesn't stop moving.

Lola is starting school next month and is very excited about it.  She has spent a lot of time at splash pads this summer and is becoming much more out going with new people and new situations; which will be helpful when starting at her new school. Currently her two loves are Dinosaur Train and Princesses.  The princess camps with Snow White, Cinderella, Belle, and Jasmine that she attended this summer have only help to strengthen her love of everything princess.  But, she has dreams of becoming a paleontologist like Dr. Scott when she grows up.

She continues to be a wonderful child who we are so lucky to have around.  It has been an amazing four years!

Happy 65th Birthday Grandpa Bill

Grandpa Bill turned 65 this week and to celebrate we had a 'Dunton' style birthday party in a park.  As you can tell by the smile on his face Grandpa is pretty cool with being officially 'over the hill'.
For his birthday we all went together and got him an authentic Blue Jays jersey.

He was pleased, plus it looks pretty awesome.
Even the old man can pull this one off.
 Happy Birthday Grandpa!

The Birthday Party Continues

As part of her birthday celebrations Lola invited Beej and Dylan over for a birthday sleep over.  Our  very first sleep over and it went amazing.  I researched having a successful sleep over and here are some of the recommended steps.
#1 Make sure that the kids eat a healthy dinner.
#2 Do not feed the children sugar.
#3 Don't let them watch movies and eat popcorn on the pull out couch till very late.
#4 No late night outdoor adventures with flash lights and glow sticks.
#5 Chocolate chip pancakes and bacon is not a good way to start the day.

Clearly we disregarded all of that advice and had a super fun amazing sleep over.  Who knew that three kids in one room would sleep so well .  Thanks for joining us Beej and Dylan at our inaugural birthday sleep over party!

The Princess Birthday Tea Party

For Lola's 4th birthday party she requested a Princess Tea Party and we were more then willing to accommodate her request.  She had some very specific requests about what she would like to see at the party.
As requested there was a strawberry princess cake with pink icing and figures that she could play with.
Lots of sweets, because every good tea party has lots of sugar.

Tiaras and princess dresses.
She saw this princess cut out in a store and thought that it would be a good idea to have for those guests who didn't show up already dressed as a princess. Lola was the first to test it out.
 Most guests obliged.

Then the most amazing thing happened that Lola had never ever thought of requesting; there was a knock on the door and Cinderella entered the room.  The kids were captivated instantly.  She read them stories.
She brought along a tickle trunk of dresses and costumes for all the kids to dress up in.  Lola tried on 3 princes dresses during Cinderella's visit.

Cinderella taught all the kids how to do a royal wave and had Lola lead all the princesses and princes on a parade.

She was pretty much the happiest I have ever seen her.
There were lots of cheering for the prince and princess parade.

Cinderella also taught everyone how to curtsey like a princess.  Maddy has clearly had a great deal of practice performing curtsies.
Cinderella even posed for some photos with the guests.

In the end she made Lola an honorary princess for her birthday.
It was an amazing party and Lola had the time of her life.  Big thank you to all our friends and family who were able to join for Lola's Princess Birthday Tea Party and for helping us celebrate 4 wonderful years of Lola!
