Count Down to Christmas

The Santa Claus parade day is one of my favourite traditions and an amazing way to kick of the Christmas holiday season.  We always spend this day with the Etherington's; we meet at the designated spot at the designated time to drink boozy hot chocolate, eat snacks and enjoy the parade.
And when we get the signal we quickly pack up our stuff and run for the subway.  You see the parade is a good way to start the day, but it isn't even close to the best part of the day.
After the parade we home to eat, talk, drink, do crafts, and watch Christmas Vacation.

Beej and Lola looked so cute in their matching embroidered sweatshirts.  Quinn has one too and was there for the entire day, he just didn't make any of the photos.  He spent most of the day asleep in the carrier on me.  He looked super cute, you will just have to take my word for it.

Bring on December!

I'm behind, but here are the shots from 51 months of Lola!

Getting ready for winter

We pulled out our snow suits this week to be ready for the snow and the cold.  Lola got to pick out a brand new one from the store, Quinn's gets to wear a hand me down from Beej circa 2007.
He reminds me a bit of Randy from A Christmas Story.  There is no chance he can get up or put his arms down.
Bring on the snow, we are ready!

Trick or Treat

Finally the big night arrived; after weeks of costume fittings and numerous rehearsals.  Lola was very excited.  But, before we could head out the door there were a lot of photos to be taken.  Lola and Beej did their best to keep it together, but eventually they were reduced to this.
For more photos from Halloween night check out Beej's blog.

Halloween Party

The Saturday before Halloween the adults were going to a Halloween party.  Grandpa and Baba came over to watch Lola and Quinn. Our house was one of the pick up points for the Halloween party bus and quickly became full of a number of great costumes.

Happy BIrthday Darcy - part 2

Darcy's birthday is always celebrated over multiple parties.  These pictures are from the Darcy's Dunton birthday celebration.
 Walking with Uncle Jon.

Working with Baba on the traditional Dunton birthday cake.  It is very serious work.
Smartie placement requires a lot of concentration.

Happy Birthday Darcy!

Catching Up

I have a lot of photos and events to catch you up on.  The next few posts are going to be pretty picture heavy.  You are all smart people, you can figure out what is going on without my witty banter. We have been busy with swimming, ballet, trampoline, homework, 3 new teeth with more on the way, proper crawling, playing, not sleeping, assisted walking, baking, crafting, reading! and lots, lots more.  The world is in fast forward and I'm doing my best to take some pictures and it flies by.

Quinn has not gotten any neater when it comes to eating.
He really just prefers to eat things off the floor.
Our floors have never been so clean.

First official school photos! So exciting.
Quinn spends most of his time just standing around and trying to convince you to hold his fingers and help him walk around.
He just can't wait to get going on his own.

Super Hero Family

I'm a big fan of a theme for our family Halloween costumes.  This year we were a family of super heroes, though some of our heroes were a bit more super then others.
Lola chose to be Wonder Woman!  She has been wearing this costume non-stop since it arrived at the beginning of October.
We watched lots of episodes of the old Wonder Woman television show.  Lola thinks that she is amazing.
Lola demonstrating her wicked Wonder Woman spinning costume change.

 Thumbs up for Diana Prince.
Quinn was Wonder Woman's super cute friend Captain America.
And we chose to dress up as Captain 6 pack and his trusty side kick the Refreshinator (aka Wonder Woman's Mom and Dad).
