Pandas!

As a family we have been eagerly await the arrival of Er Shun and Da Mao to the Toronto zoo.  We are fairly regular zoo visitors and every trip to the zoo involves some time visiting with the gorillas and the penguins.  But, this time we were there with a very singular purpose to see the new arrivals.  The zoo itself has been making a lot of changes in preparation for the unveiling of the new pandas; including this new photo spot.

The exhibit itself is really big, with lots of interesting information about pandas; did you know that Pandas are considered carnivores, even though 99% of their diet is bamboo?  All of this information was great because the line up to see the pandas was long.

Almost to the PANDAS!

Da Mao was in the outside inclosure just being completely adorable and eating bamboo.  He looked exactly like they do in cartoons and had the whole crowd captivated with his every bite.
Er Shun was in the indoor enclosure and was asleep, we didn't even wait in line to see her.  We figured that maybe on our next trip.
Quinn loves the zoo because he gets to walk around and Lola loves that Quinn wants to walk because then she gets to ride in the stroller.
After the whole panda extravaganza there wasn't much time to see much else, but we could leave without saying a quick hello to our penguin friends and taking a ride on the carousel.

We are hopeful that over the next five years we will get to know Er Shun and Da Mao pretty well.

Quinn Fifteen Months

These are way overdue, I just took his sixteen month photos! It wasn't until I went to post the sixteen month ones that I realized I hadn't posted his fifteen month ones.

He had some pretty sharp nails this month! But, even with the scratch on the cheek he is still a very cute little boy!

Soccer

Watch out Uncle Jon and Uncle Josh we have a new soccer star in the family.

She mostly loves the warm ups and the drills, but I'm sure as she becomes more comfortable with the game she will learn to love the slide tackle too.

Way Back Play Back: Family Day Edition

Way back in February we all got a day off to hang with our families.  It is a pretty awesome excuse for a long weekend.  We decided to head over to the Art Gallery for a visit.  Lola likes to wander around and look at all the paintings, she is still trying to decide which one we should 'bring home'. We haven't been able to get her to understand that it isn't a store and that our house is worth less then the paintings she is deciding between.  She also really likes to visit the upstairs cafe for a snack and to people watch.  It really is a beautiful spot.

There are also a few exhibits that have video components.  Lola will watch anything that is on the magic talking box, so these are automatically her favorite exhibits.  Here Darcy and Lola are learning about the Group of Seven.

And after all the arts, video installations, and cafe visits we play on the sculpture outside.

Soon Quinn will be more actively involved in these adventures, but for now he is content to watch from the stroller, waiting for the perfect moment to unleash the destruction that is Quinn.  It helps that he has such a heart warming smile!
