The New Wagon

Grandpa Steve was heading down to Virginia for Christmas and before he left he gave Lola and Quinn an early Christmas gift.  Ever since Quinn arrived Lola has been suggesting that we get a wagon so that the two of them can ride around together.  She was very excited when Grandpa presented them with this amazing Berlin Flyer that he had lovingly refinished.
About 30 seconds later we were out the front door to take the wagon for a test ride.
Cleo even came along for the ride.  The whole walk both kids were grinning from ear to ear.  I see lots of wagon rides in our future.
Thank you Grandpa Steve for the amazing Christmas present.

December 12 - 16

December 12th was listen to Christmas carols day.  Christmas carols are in constant rotation in our house (and since we found Songza, they are on even more. If you don't have it yet, you should seriously check it out, it is awesome), but this was an all out Christmas dance party.  Quinn dances best in the jolly jumper.  It also protects him from being stepped on by over zealous dancers; there are many of those in our house.
Our Red, Green and White dinner!  The ketchup was Lola's favourite part.

 Watching a Christmas movie.

 Cookies, cookies and more cookies.

The cookie elves head out to share the holiday baking with the neighbours.

December 7 - 11

December 7th we made a nice decoration for Anonymous and dropped it off.  I forgot to take a picture of that day.

December 8th was breakfast with Santa. Both Lola and Quinn got dressed up in their Christmas outfits, Lola has been dying to wear her new dress since she picked it out back in November.  You will most likely see these outfits a number of times over the next few weeks.

The Santa breakfast was great and both kids really seemed to enjoy themselves.  Lola was excited to get a chance to talk with Santa, Quinn just screamed.  It was priceless.

December 9th was a Christmas concert, well instead of a Christmas concert Aunt Amanda and Grandma took Lola and Zen to see the Snow White pantomime.  Lola hasn't stopped talking about it.

December 10th we made cheerio bird feeders to share with our feathered friends. I'm not sure if they were out long enough for the birds to enjoy any of the treats that we made for the.  But, the squirrels sure loved them.  I saw one running down the street with a cheerio necklace on; Oh those darn squirrels.

December 11th was Santa craft day.  More amazing things that you can do with toilet paper rolls.

December 5th and 6th

Checking to see if the lights work is Lola's job, Quinn was trying to disrupt her as much as possible.

Lola beat Darcy and I at Reindeer Bingo, straight up she won and she was very pleased with her self.

Quinn's First Ornament

Quinn got his first Christmas ornament.  We went to the Bay to check out the windows and looked around their Christmas shop.  While we were there Lola picked out her ornament for this year and a nutcracker ornament for Quinn.  So, nutcrackers it is.  I hope he likes them because when he moves out he is going to have a big box of nutcracker ornaments to take with him for his tree! (I know that he isn't even one yet, and maybe thinking of him moving out is a bit premature, but it will happen one day and it already makes me weepy)

December 3rd and 4th

It is amazing what you can do with toilet paper rolls and wine corks.

December 1st and 2nd

On December 1st we went Christmas tree hunting! It is a great tradition with wagon ride and hot chocolate, getting lost in the woods and legs freezing.  I love it!  This year Lola and Quinn picked out the most amazing tree.
I present to you the Montgomery family Christmas tree.
"Looks great, a little full, a lot of sap."
And while we decorate the tree and the house we listen to Christmas carols, drinking sparkling wine and eat appetizers.  You have really out done your self this year Galen!

Lola wanted to be in charge of putting on the star this year.  She decided that rather then our regular star that we should use the one that she made for us at daycare last year.  The one with a big picture of her on it, so we will never forget her.

On December 2nd Mary came over for a visit and we made a snowman craft.
