Last week they made ice cream at school. Unfortunately that was the day that I picked up Lola for a test run ballet class. She was disappointed to miss out on the ice cream fun, so I promised her that we would try it at home.
Her teachers sent home the recipe and we set about gathering all the ingredients.
Who knew that you could make ice cream in minutes with ziplock bags and ice?
Mittens are a necessity for the shaking step of this project. The chemical reaction between the salt and ice makes it super cold. We both learned a lot from this project.
The finished product; delicious vanilla ice cream! We are definitely taking this idea with us when we go camping. Fresh ice cream in minutes, we all loved it!
