Ready for the Sunshine

We have been patiently waiting for the sunshine to return. And just when we think that it is finally over and the birds start to sing and the buds start to appear on the trees; we get hit with another 5cm of snow.
But, we think that it is finally over! Put away the toques and mitts and pull out the sunglasses. The warm weather is on its way!
And Lola is more then ready for the warm weather.
Bring it on Mr Sun!

Photography By Lola

Lola is becoming more and more interested in being behind the camera, rather then in front of it. Tonight we had a photo session with Lola in charge.

I think that we need to maybe get a lighter point and shoot camera to help her or maybe she didn't mean for our faces to be the focus of the photos. Perhaps she meant for them to depict us as we really are.

I'm going to go with the camera was too heavy angle.

Arts and Crafts with Uncle Jon

Uncle Jon came over on the weekend for a little visit. I was excited to share one of my arts and crafts projects with him.
After some initial speculation Uncle Jon ended up loving our project medium; Play Mais. Uncle Jon made the Darcy and a tower, Mom made the car, and I also made a tower (uncle Jon copied me, I made mine first).
Uncle Jon wanted to take a nice photo of us with our crafts, I was refusing to smile, only pout. Maybe it runs in the family!
Okay, maybe I'll give you a little smile.

Thanks for the visit Uncle Jon!

Big Moon Hunting

Dad, Mom and I headed out on Saturday to check out the Super Moon. Dad was telling me that next time the moon is this close, I should be in University, wowza!

Dad thought that we should head towards the beach just after sun set in order to get the best view. So we dressed up and headed out on an adventure.
It took a little while for the moon to rise, but when it did it was really impressive. Much more impressive then it looks in the picture below!
It really was a super moon!

The Package

Last night when we got home there was a mystery package at the front door for Lola. Lola had just come home from face painting day at day care where she was done up like a kitty cat.
We were all super excited to open up the package and see what was inside.
The package was really well wrapped. The first layer that we took off was a blue plastic bag.
Then we opened the cardboard box.
Then we opened the gift box.

Then there was tissue paper and a card to open.

And after all that opening what was inside, but Buzz Lightyear bedding!
Lola was so happy.

Here is what it looks like all set up on her big girl bed.
Thank you so much Uncle Jon for the great gift. You made a little girl very, very happy! And she had a great night sleep in it last night, she said that it was super cozy!

Weekend Update

Every year during the lead up to Christmas Mom and Dad get together with Lisa, Mark, Andra and Terry for a holiday fondue celebration. Well, this year was the seventh year (or at least they think it is the seventh, they only started taking notes in year five and before now have never taken any photos of the event), but they couldn't get their acts together to do it before March.
But, even though the gluttony of the Christmas holiday is long over; they still managed to fondue it right.
Shrimp, scallops, beef, chicken, bread, mushrooms, stuffed meat balls, three different types of sauces, six pots; this meal gets better every year.
Mom and Dad had a great night out.
And while Mom and Dad were out I was visiting with Grandma and Grandpa. We had a great time, we watched movies, had tea parties, read books, checked out the birds, looked after babies, and lots more that I haven't even gotten around to telling Mom and Dad about yet.
Thanks for the great visit Grandma and Grandpa!

Peeps Show T.O. 2011

So here it is ladies and gentlemen the long awaited call for the Peeps Show T.O. 2011 submissions. Entries are due Friday April 15, 2011.

What in the world am I talking about you may ask. The most wonderful contest idea ever, a Peeps Diorama contest.

So, here are the details of the third annual Peeps Show T.O. 2011. Last year we had the most enteries ever. I can't wait to see what you come up with this year.

The process:

1. Think of a scene. Sketch some ideas. Extra credit may be given to deft use of puns in the concept or title. (Examples include the always funny "Soylent Green is Peeps!"). All your main characters must be Peeps!

2. Buy Peeps.

3. Make your diorama using a shoe box or comparable item. Dress your Peeps as you see fit: Give them pipe-cleaner arms or jelly bean feet, for example. Embrace the mallow medium. If you don't know how to make a diorama, Google "how to make a diorama."

4. Take photos of your completed diorama from varying angles. E-mail two of your best photos to leah_darcy@primus.ca. Put "Peeps" in the subject line. In the message, include your name, the title of the diorama and a brief description of its significance or creation.

5. Photo submissions are due by 11:59 p.m. April 15, 2011, but keep your masterpieces intact.

6. Oh, right and there are prizes, which will be awarded by an independent judge.

7. If you have any more questions, just let me know.

Puzzle Work

When Zen came over for a visit last week he introduced me to the world of puzzles. I love doing puzzle work! Mom is so happy because she also loves putting together puzzles, I clearly come by this new found love of puzzles naturally.
It took us two nights, but we managed to finish the farm puzzle.
I even got to put in the last piece! Thanks Zen!

Thanks Dylan

Dylan gave me a copy of Cars. I was so excited that he brought it to watch the other night and then was beside myself with excitment when Mom told me that Dylan brought that copy of Cars for me to take home. I still can't believe that he would give me such a great present.
Thanks so much Dylan I had so much fun watching it today!
